Discerning life's lessons

11-17-09 wisdom brain
Over the years, one thing I have learned is that when you are presented with a life-lesson, you can be expected to be tested on it sooner rather than later. Such was the case last week, as I saw the need to bring more focus in my life, there arose many opportunities to distract me from that focus.

I resolved myself to turn down some invitations and keep the focus on all the projects I need to complete by Christmas.

This has always be an ongoing, continual battle for me: Discerning what activities to say “YES” to and which ones to decline politely with “no thanks, not at this time”.

It is time for me to truly embrace the fact that “I can’t do it all”….. and that’s OK.

  1. Good Post. I had to politely turn down an invitation for a Christmas gathering last night, including a free dinner. I've come to realize just because it's a good thing, doesn't mean its good for me.

  2. I have a hard time saying "no" to anything that sounds fun!
